Myths About Cloud Controlled WiFi Services
In the current generation, the reliability and relevance of internet in one’s life increased drastically, initially used for mailing and surfing is now an important part of our lives. This has caused the dependence of one on Internet and its services to increase rapidly.
As a result the availability of internet is very important for us in day to day personal and professional activities.
After the first ISP in 1980’s the services provided by the ISP have improved and evolved with time. The first internet connection had a speed of 9.6kb/s which has increased to almost 60mb/s, the size of modems have decreased too. Earlier which was connected modem to computer, then came the large Access Points Wi-Fi which had to be configured Individually.
Similarly the latest addition to this was the Cloud Controlled Wi-Fi. A lot of misconceptions revolve around the usage, safety, working etc of the Cloud Controlled Wi-Fi.
Firstly what exactly is a “Cloud”? In layman’s terms, Cloud computing means storing, accessing and sharing data over the Internet instead of the local Hard Drive. Now that we know about the Cloud, we can clear the misconceptions revolving around the Cloud Controlled Access Points.
Myth 1:- Data transferred from the Access Point to the Cloud is unsecure
The data does not go to the cloud. Only the management traffic moves up from the Network Access Points to the Cloud server. This eventually makes the processing of data faster easier and gives the management more control.
Myth 2:- Connectivity fails, when we lose connection to the cloud.
Even if the connectivity to the cloud goes down, Networks AP work independently and only thing that is affected by it is the Management Process. The Network Access Points work with the previously employed settings and the current users are unaffected by the loss of connectivity. Depending on the configuration, the new users may not be able to use the services until connectivity to the cloud is restored.
Myth 3:- Cloud Controlled Wi-Fi is less secure.
Network Cloud is like any other cloud network available in the market. Although none of the cloud services are risk free, the only ones who can access the cloud Management is the IT department.
Myth 4:- Cloud Controlled Wi-Fi Access Points cause interference.
ZenCC Engineers have years of experience in the field of installation of Wi-Fi Access Points, they find the optimal installation places which avoid the interference and provide smooth client roaming and best customer experience.
Myth 5:- Cloud Controlled Wi-Fi is expensive.
Although the installation of Wi-Fi/AP does imply a certain cost, it still cuts out on the number of employees required by the IT department and the Hardware required for the normal Wi-Fi Connection.
